Welcome to the new Freret Street. The music is a mix of Funk, Jazz, Rock and all types in between depending upon the night. The cuisine is a myriad display provided by Food Trucks and in-house specialties. You can walk the six-block strip and hit’em all up or perch at one and enjoy their vibe.

Seriously be warned. This is for die hard New Orleanians or those who pretend to be. Thursday night until Friday morning forget about twerking you will “second line your ass off”. If you leave early – say 2:00 am you’re missing out on half the experience because those boys jam (Soul Rebels) till it’s time to get dressed for work, giving a new meaning to causal Friday’s. The drinks are cheap, the mood-quintessentially New Orleans and the dress code -“whatever”. Do not show up if you can’t be around smoke. You’ve been warned, nevertheless a must experience.

One large hall room, a meticulously adorned ceiling, a stage, an outside patio, and an old school wood bar. This place is iconic, (Queen Beyoncé shot a video here). Thirty plus years of live music 7 days a week. It continues to be the launching site for local musicians and the occasional sit ‘in (the unannounced type) by absurdly large names (Read “The Boss” Bruce Springsteen). The music is Funk, Jazz Rock, R&B, Brass Band, “you know” the sounds that define New Orleans. The crowd – Grad School types, now whether they earned their degree at one of several prestigious universities in New Orleans or on their block is for you to decide. One thing is certain, they know how to dance, drink and party.
